Each to a Grain is the oldest track on this EP. Oddly enough, the song was inspired by the complexity of an ant's work. Michael wrote this song in high school while in a band called Vultures of Pop Culture. The original song was abandoned after the band broke up. After many years, the song was completely re-made to sound like what it does today.
lyrics
Build me a home here
Build it out of sand
Keep it out of contact
Away from modern man
Now, each to a grain
There's plenty more to do
The beginning of my kingdom
A life brand new
Dig in deeper
Break apart the earth
Tear out the insides
Until our paths converge
Now, each to a grain
There's plenty more to do
The beginning of my kingdom
A life brand new
Oh, the things that trouble us
How it rains from time to time
How I look up now and then
Stitch up teary skies
Now this structure
Takes on different shape
Pushed and pulled
Pushed and pulled
Pushed and pulled by rain
Now, each to a grain
There's plenty more to do
The beginning of my kingdom
A life brand new
Oh, the things that trouble us
How it rains from time to time
How I look up now and then
Stitch up teary skies
